Wednesday we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association) members to our company as part of the 20th anniversary of the OE-A. We are delighted with the positive feedback from other members about us and our activities in the field of printed electronics and OPV. 

The highlight was the exclusive tour of our Technology Center, during which we printed flexible printed circuits and RFID labels on our LABCO using a custom-made printing roller.

We had an exciting day in Hsinchu at the OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association) meeting! We were able to visit the leading research institute for printed electronics, ITRI, as well as the display manufacturer AUO. Our colleague Andrea Glawe was not only able to gain exciting insights into the latest developments in artificial intelligence, but also exchange ideas with experts from Europe, Canada, Taiwan and Japan about the future of printed electronics, e-paper and display technology.

We are all increasingly encountering paper packaging in our everyday lives, a change that we very much welcome in terms of sustainability. However, replacing plastic packaging with paper products also raises new questions about barrier coatings for paper to ensure barrier properties, which vary greatly depending on the application. Recycling is also an elementary component of the design of a sustainable product. If the coating makes the recycling process more difficult or impossible, the benefits of a sustainable paper product are quickly lost.
