New Lab Coater fo Highest Viscosities
|
After the unequivocal success of the proposed LabCo at the beginning of the year, Kroenert has now also developed a Lab coater for the epoxy resin business unit.
The new PAK 400 EP Lab works with a maximum width of 500 mm; its modular design permits assembly to customer specifications. This guarantees that the machine is tailored precisely to meet the needs of the respective products. Intelligent, easily-serviced cantilever unwinding and winding up to a maximum diameter of 500 mm makes for easier reel changes. At the heart of the machine is the high-precision coating head, consisting of two double-walled steel rollers with ceramic coating and feeding box which enables by nip metering accuracies of approximately 1%. Thanks to the swivelling rubber counter pressure-roller the change from forward to reverse running mode (and vice-versa) is simple – a removal of the roller is unnecessary.

With a total length of 2.8 metres, including control panel, this machine is very compact. The complete electronics, including the Siemens/Rockwell control system, is placed in a switchcabinet at the rear of the machine. Modular assembly permits problem-free later extensions of the machine.

For instance, an additional unwinder with laminating station to reinforce EP film with scrim could be integrated, or a coating weight measuring system for online measuring could be added. Since the Kroenert coating stations used in the production operate on the same coating principles, the transfer of parameters and settings to production standards is simple.
